National Roman Museum – The Altemps Palace

The National Roman Museum is located inside the Altemps Palace and has important ancient collections.

The rooms are still partly painted and you can admire Greek and Roman sculptures.

The place hosts prestigious collections of ancient sculptures which used to belong to noble Roman families and an important collection of Egyptian works.

The building also includes the ancient private theatre, which is now used as a space for temporary exhibitions, and the Church of Sant’Aniceto.

The visit to the Palace is distributed on two floors which surround a beautiful garden decorated by a monumental fountain.

 

Single ticket valid for 3 days at 4 sites (Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps, Crypta Balbi and Baths of Diocletian)
