Project Description

Chiesa di San Luigi dei Francesi

The San Luigi dei Francesi Church, not too far from Piazza Navona, has been the national French church in Rome since 1589.

From an artistic point of view, the church is a celebration of France, representing its saints and its most important historical heroes.

In the chapel there are some truly incredible masterpieces belonging to the XVII century: the affresco with scenes from the life of Santa Cecilia of Domenichino and three incredible works of art of St Matthew painted by Caravaggio.
