Project Description

Domus Romane

A multi-media museum is present in the underground area of Palazzo Valentini. It brings the past alive through the use of virtual reconstructions, graphic effects and films of the ‘Roman Domus’ belonging to the powerful families of the Imperial age of Rome.

A working model allows you to see the locations of the past and in particular the enormous Ulpian basilica, which stood beside the Trajan Column.

An unforgettable experience: as soon as you go down the steps which take you to the level of the excavations you will be fascinated by the place and constantly surprised by the wealth of curious information about Palazzo Valentini. You can also watch a documentary about the conquest of Dacia, modern day Romania, by Emperor Trajan by way of a virtual reconstruction which gives you a close up look at the bas reliefs on the Trajan column and lets you observe them from a very special angle.

Booking is required also for Roma Pass and/or Roma Pass 48 hours holders.
