Largo di Torre Argentina hosts four Roman temples belonging to the age of the Republic. The complex is considered a “sacred area”.

Next to the central temples there is a big pedestal of tuff, which comes from the Curia of Pompeius, the place where Roman senators would reunite; it became notorious for the killing of Julius Caeser on the famous Ides of March (the name of 15th of March in the Roman calendar).
