Project Description

Rome is pretty safe but visitors ought to use common sense to protect themselves and their possessions.

For example, it is not advisable to keep your wallet in the back or side pocket of your trousers or to keep your bag open when you are on crowded public transport.

In packed places, like the tube, keep one hand on your bag, pay attention to people who knock against you or crowd you and put your backpack or your bag in front of you and not beside or behind you.

The areas where you must pay most attention are Train Station Roma Termini, the tube stations Termini, Colosseo, Spagna and Barberini and on the bus number 64 which connects Termini to the Vatican.

Always use authorized services for all needs (for example do not use guided tours or museum tickets offered to you on the streets) but buy directly on the site of the attraction or on their websites; trust official taxis and never abusive/illegal ones.

It is important to keep your ID card or Passport in a safe place since losing it is a waste of time and money.
