Italy is within the CET (Central European Time) zone, which is an hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1). DST, or Daylight Saving Time, is observed from March to October.

At the beginning of springtime (the last Sunday of March) the hour hand is advanced an hour forward in order to have more sunlight in the evening.

At the beginning of Autumn (the last Sunday of October) the clocks are put back one hour to Winter Time (called also Civil or Standard Time).
