Rome enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with generally mild temperatures throughout the year.

Summer time is usually hot (it can reach an average of 30 °C – 86 °F) and humid, with very little rain.

The coldest days are few and are concentrated above all in winter time between the months of  December and January.

It mainly rains in the winter, with less rainfall in autumn and spring and rare showers in the summer.

The climate is generally windy, with Northerly winds such as the Tramontana and Grecale and Westerly winds such as the Mistral and the Libeccio.
