Borghese Gallery

It is not just a museum or an art collection but also a unique place in the world where you can find works by the most important artists of the ‘500s and ‘600s.

Just to mention a few: Raphael’s “Deposition”, Canova’s “Paolina Bonaparte”, Correggio’s “Danae”, the “Madonna of the Palafrenieri” by Caravaggio, “Venus and Cupid” by Cranach, “Sacred and Profane Love” by Titian, the “Apollo and Daphne” by Bernini and the “Hunt of Diana” by Domenichino.

Galleria Borghese is a work of art which contains other works of art; it is an incomparable place as far as the quantity and the importance of the sculptures of Bernini and the canvases of Caravaggio are concerned, and this characteristic has made it rare in the world.
