Project Description

Piazza Venezia

The main attraction in Piazza Venezia is the Vittoriano, the colossal monument to Vittorio Emanuele the II, the first king of Italy.

The tomb of the unknown soldier, in memory of the soldiers who were killed and not buried in war, can be found at the Vittoriano. The remains are constantly guarded by two soldiers standing beside a flame which never goes out.

This complex periodically hosts important exhibitions and the Flag Memorial.

Here you can also find two panoramic lifts in see-through crystal that lead to the Terrace of the Chariots where you can admire a breathtaking view.

On the west side there is Palazzo Venezia, in front of which you can see the Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali, built in the first years of the 1900s.

In front of Vittoriano there is the historical Via del Corso which connects Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo, where there are lots of churches, noble palaces and many shops.
