Project Description

Ciampino airport is also connected to Rome by two bus lines of public transport, thanks to which it is possible to get to the city with a single ticket costing € 1.50.

They are both circular bus lines, with a frequency of 20’, from 5:30 to 23:30. They even work on Sundays.

The bus #520 connects Ciampino airport to:

> Capannelle railway station where it is possible to take the regional train to Roma Termini station (www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en).

> Cinecittà and Subaugusta underground stations of line A to several spots in the centre of Rome (such as Termini, Esquilino district, Piazza Barberini, Piazza di Spagna, Vatican).

> Subaugusta bus station where it is possible to take bus #451 that connects Parco di Centocelle underground station of line C, Togliatti railway station of FL2 line, the terminus of the Tram 14  and Ponte Mammolo underground station of line B.

The bus #720 connects Ciampino airport to Laurentina underground station of Line B to several spots in the centre of Rome (such as Termini, Colosseum, Monti district). The journey takes about 30′.

They are urban buses so they do not provide any baggage racks, but contain considerable standing room inside, in the middle of the bus (not just seats and a narrow aisle).

The ticket, called BIT, costs € 1.50 and is valid for 100 minutes once it is validated and it allows you to take an unlimited number of bus, tram and urban routes of regional trains, plus a single entry to the underground system.
Tickets can be purchased inside the airport at the Tourist Information Point (open every day 8:30 – 18:00) at Chef Express restaurant or at the vending machines.
